AN Venture Partners (ANV), a global biotech venture capital firm, today announced that Managing Partner Ken Horne has been appointed to the Advisory Board of the Japan Agency for Medical Research and Development (AMED).
AMED is Japan's central agency for medical research and development and healthcare innovation. Its Advisory Board, established under the President, brings together external experts from across the healthcare, industry, research, and patient communities to provide independent guidance on research priorities and organizational strategy. ANV was selected as a certified venture capital partner under AMED's Pharmaceutical Startup Ecosystem Strengthening Program in 2024. Ken is the first venture capitalist to join the Advisory Board.
Ken Horne, Managing Partner of ANV, commented: 'It is an honor to join the AMED Advisory Board. I am looking forward to serving alongside my colleagues on the board. Bringing Japanese biotech innovation to a global audience has been at the heart of my work for many years. I look forward to adding a global investor’s perspective to AMED's work and to contributing to its efforts to strengthen external communications and outreach."
ANV remains committed to connecting Japanese science with the global startup ecosystem to advance innovation in the biotechnology sector.
